Break the connection between 1 and the room thermostat.
Connect the live on the AM12 to L, the neutral to N, and the switched live
(output) to the room thermostat.

Connecting the output to 2 will mean the room thermostat won't work.

OK, so it wasn't that much money (although considerably more than
£40) I just want to "automate it" :-)

Am I right in thinking I could just fit a appliance module to L an N
and have the output going to 2? Or have I just blown myself up? :-)

Luckily I'm not going to be doing it myself, I just want to know which
bits to buy...
