I think it's the WMP9/10 codec for WMA that's the problem, not the sound
card drivers.

It may be an idea to uninstall/reinstall WMP.

Same problem here.  Given that it _is_ the codec, what should I use.  I
have
the soundcard [SoundBlaster audigy 2] set to digital out only and it does
pass-through 5.1 from DVD.  MCE2005 also does 5.1 when playing DVD and
testing.  Everything else is picked up by the receiver as 2-channel 48Khz
stereo.

Any ideas.
