AH! that makes it clearer.

Yes you could if you want to waste money !!!!

If you want to mount the KAT5 PSU remotely then all you need to do is....

1. get a patch cord and cut it in two.
2. Decide which pair you are going to use eg Brown & White.
3. Wire one of the cut ends into a 2.1mm DC power plug.
4. Wire the other cut end to a 2.1mm DC power socket.
5. Then just plug the kit in.
