Might be better posting that on UK_Selfbuild
We had this debate over the last couple of weeks and from what I could tell
the consensus of opinion was that £10-12K bought a shedload of insulation
and it was probably better to super-insulate to reduce heating costs rather
than shell out the cash on a heatpump.

Although if you had a handy lake near you ...
Also I seem to remember some of the people building in Ireland had better
quotes.. can't remeber who though.
