Ian,

The DS9097U is still available from Maxim, just not as a sample. I don't
know what the postage would be but the two 9-pin versions of the adaptor
are priced at USD 12-odd each. There's nowt as cheap as free though, so
maybe the USB adaptor would work instead ?
