I'm not sure about the effectiveness of ionisers, they do produce ozone
which isn't great

Personally I don't like the 'smell' of ozone, but I think that more to do
with being an electrical engineer, sparky things are just wrong ;-)

http://www.epa.gov/iaq/pubs/ozonegen.html
has some info

you may also like to try uk asthma society : see

for some comments on air
quality in the home

If I was you I'd try to keep doors and windows shut at the times of day
when
the traffic is bad and maybe invest in an air filter based fan or air
conditioner?

Dave

My main worries are cars and trucks ( diesel ). I live close to Bathwick
St
in Bath which is a main truck / coach / car route through the town.
Certain
times of the day it's completely gridlocked so we've got a lot of standing
traffic. Not good. The road is in the flat area of the town. Ie not up
one of the 2/3 hills so I also suspect that the winds take longer to clear
the pollution.

I could always move but I'm just about to finish the house .......

Try http://www.iso.org and search for Air
quality =:-O

I think you are going to need to define your term 'air quality' to decide
what it is you would like to measure

Anyone know of a way of monitoring levels of polution in the air? I live
fairly near a main road and I've been thinking for some time of monitoring
the level of rubbish in the air and possibly providing the results on a web
site.

Thanks in advanced. Jeff
