Cos the hp is twice the price of the dell!
Well...not quite but the difference is substantial..
My experience of both has been very positive though... never had a problem
with dell servers... and never had a problem with proliants..
At the end of the day, apart from the smart array controller, its all the
same stuff inside the box anyway... all serverworks chipsets, broadcom
NIC's
etc so hopefully all should be ok... (although smartstart/Insight Manager
blows OpenManage away)

Paul, Why are you not convincing him to buy a new Compaq (HP) box?
Far better quality than Dell...
