When it bots up it should give you the option to press F8, you then get
into
the SCSI BIOS and you can configure RAID sets in there. Well you do on all
the Compaqs I've worked on in the last 5 years.

As to termination, do your drives have SCA connectors on them? SCA has both
the power and the signals through the same connector as they are designed
for Hot Swap bays. Or do they have a separate MOLEX connector for power?
Either way you will need to terminate the end; my cables have the
terminator
built in and are from Compaq. I have several of them but they will not
connect to SCA drives, I have to use adapters to hook up my drives.

Cheers
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

I know it has an Adaptec chip and that it tries to initialise at
bootup. It then finds no drives (I think this may have something to
do with the fact I haven't attached any yet!). Windows XP has
installed it and says its working but I have no way of configuring it
from here on.

I believe that in order to set up RAID on it some extra software is
needed...?

Cheers,

Matt

P.S

I'm new to the SCSI thing, if I install a compaq SCSI array do I have
to terminate it? If so how?
