Well, may be it is not funny to you but it is to some.

It wasn't aimed at anyone in UKHA but Mark. It was meant to be a private
wind-up, much like one of Mark's other domain name wind-up before. He
managed to find out on both occasions. As regard to the UKHA2005 domain
name itself, there is nothing one can do if someone else registers it.
UKHA is not a registered trademark and not even a company. Furthermore,
one cannot claim implied ownership to a range of domain names just because
they start with a common group of characters.

We have two solicitors in the extended family and Mark had an occasion to
seek advice from one in the past. The fact that he didn't this time and
decided to "pay" for it has made us suspicious.

Probably the latter. Your action, commendable though it is, was not
requested and you didn't let people know what you were intending to do. If
you did inform Mark or in the group, one of us would have warned you about
it. I am sure your effort is not totally wasted though. Now you should
have an even better knowledge of the rules of ICANN after your research.
At any rate, perhaps you should be glad that the domains are still in safe
hands.

In my opinion, you are making a mountain out of a mole hill with this one.
