Not from the discussions we had - what Ian's talking about doing is
using a tokenised version of the messages to be sent allowing the device
to easily operate in either (or both) mode, with a pretty minimal
footprint in eeprom - leaving more space for the menus themselves.

I *suspect* that the menu manipulation system and token based operation
will prove to be the real magic rather than the display device itself...
(although those blue EL screens are incredibly pretty!)

Ian did say to me he was intending to write xPL for it - the xAP logo
was the only one he had to hand when he was playing with the graphics
and reset bits :)

I'm not sure he's at the stage of having either protocol in place
yet??????
