Just to even up the score a bit - I tried to buy a PC from Dell a
couple of years ago. It turned
into a complete nightmare. From their web site I could see it got
shipped pretty quickly, then got
held up due to some technicality with the credit card that was never
adequately explained to me
(there was nothing wrong with the card, and the addresses matched, but
they didn't like
*something*).

I made many phone calls and could not get through to anyone that could
do anything - either tell me
what thr problem actually was, give me my money back or deliver the
PC. A few times I was promised a
call back - but that never happened.

I eventually had to get my money back from the credit card company - I
gave up on receiving the PC
about 3-4 weeks after ordering it. (Dell had taken the money from the
credit card immediately on
ordering and then not delivered the PC)

Dell customer service and support is complete and utter sh*te. They make
good hardware at reasonable prices, if nothing goes wrong they're a
great company.
