It was, and still is, Quad.
They usually have a few people at the shows ask them where they can get the
"Quad" cable, and people are usually suprised to be told
"B&Q" orange
flexible mains cable at ?pence/m
I've been in the game a while (20+ years), and there is a LOT of twaddle
talked about cables. With competently designed audio electronics, cables
make
little if any difference. Products sold on the high street however are
always
designed down to a price, and features usually win over competent design.
This means that cables can make more of a difference on cheaper equipment.
However, it is the people who buy the expensive kit that buy expensive
cables. Psychology? "If it's expensive, then it's got to be better. If
I
can't hear it, then I admit I've been gullible, therefore I can hear
it."
Cynical? After 20+ years? You betcha!

If I want it, it's up there somewhere...

If I've not yet used it, it's not been kept long enough...
