yy - all very valid points. I'm never going to get 100% security.

But I COULD dig a trench round the house, and fill it with water. I think
it's been done before....

I would also give VERY careful consideration to safety. If you have a fire
or other emergency you REALLY need a failsafe means of escape.
One solution to this is to link your deadbolts to a smoke alarm or other
detector, remember though if you use the deadbolts as your only means of
security a false alarm will leave your home wide open!
