RE: Morex external PSUs



Yes, I had a pair in my last server. However you need to crack open the PSU
case, with the 240V danger that entails!

Not all PSU fans have the header plugs to fit, mine didn't, so I changed
the
fan and ran the power lead out of the PSU case along with the other leads.
Plugged it into the Zalman speed controller and then plugged that into the
motherboard so I could moniter the PSU fan speed... :)

Then used MBM (Mother Board Monitor) to watch the fan speed and log it to a
HTML file, with it wrote to a subdirectory on the webserver path so I could
monitor it via the web... :)

Certainly sounds easy enough.  Would something like the A56AA from
maplins do the job on a PSU fan?
