I think it all comes down to what server you're running. I had no end of
problems trying to get smb shares working using Linux as a server ( to the
xbox I mean, works fine to windows clients) but ccxstream works like a
charm for me.

It does pause for a few seconds while it caches some of the data, no more
more than 3 or 4.
