Hi Steve

They're both different grades of the same type of co-axial cable. The
colour of the sleeving has nothing to do with the quality of the cable.
Which cable you choose is up to you and what you want to use it for. A
lot of satellite installers are using the cheapest co-ax cable they can
get their hands on, so it's not fair to say that the cheap stuff won't
work, but I'd recommend you use the foam filled type with a copper braid
and copper foil. The price can vary quite a bit depending on where you
get it and how much you buy, but the price for the better stuff ranges
from =A315 to =A335 per 100m.

You can get the cheaper stuff for less than =A38 per 100m.

Subject: [ukha_d] Coax question

Hello all,

What is the difference between low-loss 75 ohm coax cable for tv and=20
radio distribution and low-loss 75 ohm coax for satellite tv=20
distribution? They look identical, expect the former has white=20
sleeving and the latter has black. Widths seem to be the same, both=20
75 ohm, both low loss, yet satellite version four times as expensive.=20
Is it worth it or is it marketing?

Thanks,
Stephen.=20
