miniDV tapes are 60 minutes SP or 90 mins LP. LP sucks in terms of quality
though
and the pronto/touchscreen idea is still my best guess - unless you concoct
some huge button that, when pressed, hit the (hidden in a box underneath or
something) remote control's play/pause button.
*shrugs* i'm guessing right now, sorry
