RE: Re: Thermostat for Home Vision Pro

If I wanted to use an I button with HV to do security type door opening
and or alarm setting etc. etc. what sort of kit would I need I've
homevision ordany not pro without any expansion modules etc. etc.

What I plan to do if have an I button network with possibly temp modules
(Can I mix the Dallas stuff on the same wire?) and some buttons that
could open the workshop door roller door. (Are they secure enough for
this) was also hoping for a key pad entry for the same, can this easily
be intergraded into the same setup?

TIA

Bascialy, iButtons are 1wire devices, each have a unique serial
number. I'm using DS1920s which provide digital thermometer
measurements.

I have part of a cat5 patch panel wired up and use cat5 cable to
connect it all the devices. It uses the blue pair (Blue - Data,
White&Blue - Return(Gnd)) - On an RJ11 cable it uses Red - Data and
Green - Return.

I was fortunate enough to get a DS9097U-DB9 serial adapter when maxim
were doing them as samples (you can get the USB adapters now but I
haven't tried them).

I use xPL to record these readings into an access database to be
displayed on my webpage. (I use linegraph.class from
www.graphscharts.com to plot the readings on a graph as well).

To mount them, I am currently trying the DS9098P iButton retainer.

The pictures I took weren't any good hence I haven't posted them...

Goto www.maxim-ic.com and have a look, search on:
DS1920
DS9098
DS9097
