RE: Pinnacle ShowCenter
Simon, I've been using this http://www.neuston.com/en/mc500.asp
since late
December last year after I rejected a ShowCenter on the basis of negative
comments in their support forums at the time. The two items are both based
on the same chip so I've kept an eye on the Pinnacle forum since then and
as
Tony says things have improved. Equally though the Neuston s/w has come on
in leaps and bound since then too.
I'm very pleased with mine (other than the remote which I've replaced with
my Pronto). Mainly I've used it for viewing downloaded movies and letting
the rest of the family look at pics from our digital cameras. I have used
it for music and whilst it works, the interface for selecting tunes to play
is a bit slow and cumbersome. I've also used it to surf the net but images
and text on the TV are not clear enough for me to use it regularly.

Subject: [ukha_d] Pinnacle ShowCenter
Hi,
Has anyone had much experience of the Pinnacle ShowCenter? I am a big
user
of J-River Media Center and am looking for ways of interfacing it to my AV
system. This seems quite interesting, got good Video playback
capabilities? Anyone used it? Any comments? Any serious competitors,
especially in the Video Arena?
Specially, I am looking for something that can play back large (e.g. ~2G)
DivX encoded video files over the network.
Cheers,
Simon
