RE: [OT] EBay Sniping software

Personally I use auctionstealer.com but not for some of the reasons
previously mentioned. I found that as I sat and watched the closing
minutes
of eBay auctions live, too often I'd get carried away and bid to much at
the
last minute! :-)

Now if I see something I fancy, I decide my max bid, stick it in
auctionstealer and let it do its stuff. If I win, great. If not I figure I
prevented myself getting carried away and spending to much and there'll be
another item along again very soon! :-)

I've also stopped bidding on items that end on Saturday nights. They
always
seem to go for way over the odds... (Equally if I'm selling I always end
the auction around 20:00 on a Saturday!)

Sniping systems basically watch for an auction ending, and submit bids
very rapidly in the closing stages. The user enters a maximum bid, and
adopts smug winner pose :D
