Video termination Q

Right, then...

One of the cameras that I've got connected to an MV-1000, I'd also like to
connect directly to a video capture card in one of the servers.

Here's what I thought I might be able to get away with:

The MV-1000 has a T-piece with a 75R terminator at each input. Presumably,
therefore, it's a high-impedance input. I thought that I might be able to
replace the terminator with a cable going straight into the composite video
input on the video capture card. Since you normally just plug a video
source
straight into this, I assumed that it would provide the termination and
everything would be hunky-dory.

Imagine my suprise, if you will, when I found that the video capture card
doesn't see an input signal using this setup, though I've got a feeling
(which I can't confirm at the moment, 'cos I've repatched everything) that
the MV-1000 continued working correctly.

So, what did I do wrong, and what can I do to fix it?

TIA.

Steve
