X10 LD11 playing up

My bathroom light is playing up. It's 3x12V halogens driven by an LD11
switched by a pull switch. Mostly it's doing nothing at all, but I've
had it working a couple of times, briefly. The last of these was when
I opened up the X10 cabinet and pulled the fuse out of the LD and put
it back. Then the light worked, but stopped after I put the cover back on.

I can't see anything obviously wrong like a loose wire.

What's the easiest way to test it and work out where the fault lies?
I've got a multi-meter if I need to check continuity or voltages.

I tried switching it from the PC via a CM12U, but that did nothing. I
also noticed the CM was getting very hot. Is that normal?

Thanks
