Re: Touch screen PC delivery

I used UPS expedited to bring a few in - very expensive ($136!) for 1 but
gets more reasonable for a larger order.

Very impressed with the tracking and speed - took 5 days including a
weekend and 2 days in customs! The advantage for me in using UPS was that
the local driver knows where I live - he has been here a few times -:)

I used USPS (United States Parcel Service - not to be confused with UPS)
which is the surface shipping arrangement to ship 3 boxes at the same time.
One arrived four weeeks later - the second two days after that and the
third
one took 11 weeks. All had customs costs associated so it seems it is a bit
of a raffle. They did all arrive though.
Contrary to popular belief there is a tracking number - it is the
number that appears on the customs entry form that each box will have.
There
is another number issued once it arrives in the UK by Parcelforce. Now in
the US they will not consider trying to track the item until at least 6
weeks and more typically 10 have elapsed. In the UK however PF said that
they could look into it after 6 (on their computers) if I could provide the
number - there is no online tracking for the public. But guess what - I
didn't have the number as no copy was kept of the top slip of the customs
entry form by the sender so I had to wait patiently. I was convinced it was
lost as the first two items arrived within a day of each other but it did
turn up. Maybe it want a different customs route.
