Did anyone else buy one of these Joytech Scart/optical switchers? I'm
having
problems with mine. :-(
The first one worked OK for a week or so and then starting putting
everything
into widescreen mode, whether it was supposed to be or not. Cabling the
units
directly to the TV eliminated the problem so it was definitely the
switcher. It
then started flicking between widescreen and 4:3 several times a second!
So I sent it back to Play.com, (who were very good indeed at getting me a
replacement).
The new one arrived yesterday and seemed to be switching OK. I then started
watching the football on Sky+ last night and realised it was doing the same
thing, i.e. switching to widescreen when it shouldn't.
I presume the voltage on pin 8 is dropping far enough below 12v that it
passes
the threshold on the TV and the TV treats it as a 6v, i.e. a widescreen
signal.
Any thoughts? Anyone else got a similar problem?
