The bin does need emptying around once per 'average' room if it has carpet,
maybe a little less if it's a smooth floor. I guess it's about 500ml in
size. Roomba doesn't stop, but it's cleaning efficiency declines quickly
if
the bin is full.

How big is the bin and how often do you need to empty it? I can't
imagine that it takes the hassle out of vaccuuming if you need to stop
and empty it seven times per room. What happens when the bin is full?
Does the roomba stop or flash a light or something to tell you?
