If you want to print graphics directly onto the finished disks get the
RITEK
4x G04 Inkjet Printable - 25 Tub from

http://www.burn-media.co.uk/acatalog/DVD_R.html

0.39p a disk.

The R200 printer is great for printing onto the disks. Burn media were
doing a deal for the printer+spare carts+disks.

I have found that DVD-R are the most compatible with standalone players.

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] DVD Rewriter and disks

Hi All,

Finally (after 6 months) got round to installing the 256Mb Ram, Firewire
Card, and Sony DW-U14A DVD Re-Writer that I got for Christmas.

I now need to know the following....

What disks should I get ?

spec of writer is

Write Speed:
DVD+R/+RW 2.4x, 4x
DVD-R 1x, 2x, 4x
DVD-RW 1x, 2x
CD-R 4x, 12x, 16x, 24x
CD-RW 4x, 10x, 16x

... and where is the best place to buy them.

Do I need any special software ?
I have Nero6 and U-Lead Studio although I have to figure out how to use
them
properly yet. I want to create DVD disks that can be played in a normal DVD
player from my DV Camcorder.

Also, is there a means of editing various clips from proper DVD's. I want
to
take the songs from the Blues Brothers etc, and turn them into Pop Video
style clips for a video jukebox.

As an aside, I spent 12 hours downloading the ISO's for Mandrake 10.0 and
burnt them to CD but I must have done something wrong because the CD's only
contain a single ISO file whereas the disks I have for Mandrake 9 contain
hundreds of installation files. How should I have dealt with the ISO's to
get then as workable installation CD's ?

As you have probably guessed... my knowledge and experience of burning
disks
is extremely limited :-(

Thanks

Keith
