I think an obscure 10. address would be better, something like 10.43.23.0
255.255.255.0 that way you are less likely to clash with any of your
network

My home LAN is currently on the range 192.168.0.x (as I'm using Windows
ICS), but this has meant I'm unable to VPN to work as it uses the same
range.  With ADSL arriving in a few weeks time I'll be taking the
opportunity to change my home LANs IP range to overcome this.

I've no understanding of Subnets, but from what I read a "class
C" IP range
allows 254 hosts on each of 2 million networks. Ample :)

So, I was planning to use 192.168.1.x at home, until James H mentioned it
might be a good idea to pick something more like 192.168.123.x or whatever
so I don't clash with other LANs I might want to VPN to in the future.

Anyone got any comments before I start changing IP addresses on TiVos,
Xboxes, switches etc?
