I think the reason they're not in the UK book is that we're not allowed to
have open back boxes here..
Not a problem when using ELV though, but if someone was to put 230v in it -
it wouldnt comply.
We are always expected to err on the side of safety - we have to make sure
we have an earth readily available in a class 2 fitting i.e double
Insulated
incase someone in the future fits a class 1 :)
Has anyone ever seen a class 1 cylinder stat ?

Is that a Clipsal part number? If so, it is currently not available in the
UK. Perhaps we should import a batch of these brackets from you. :-)
Yep thats the part no. out of the 2002 cat...Have used them in the past
myself and save quite a bit of time.....Theres also several versions of
brackets for drywall (plasterboard) situations and even slim plastic
mounting blocks as well .........
