Hi Frank
Quick answers for now I'm at work, usual Monday morning stuff to sort
out.
> I take it at the moment your using rf control ???... Yes 868Mhz. You
can mix the units so you could have one converter that tx/rx RF and then
link that to other units that are say RS422.
>Will the plug in modules have a cover plate over them ??........ Yes.
When I've finished testing the module drops down a few mil and the cover
clips on.
>Whats the idea of having 5 inputs ??. It's a universal module. Can be
used as just a lamp module, just an appliance module or just a switch
i/p module or a combination of the lot. One i/p is for normal style
local control, the other four for extra switching i/ps. I.e. you want to
add four switches to a room. Wire the switches to the module and connect
to any available mains wire. Now when ever any of the switches is
switched you get a status message saying which way the switch was
activated and which switch. Your HA controller of choice then carries
out what ever function you require. They can work without a HA
controller and send messages directly to one another, this saves chasing
out the walls to install new lighting circuits.
>The xAP guys have Homeseer support but i dont think the xPL guys have
at this stage ... Yes I have received a few emails direct but I will not
be able to answer them till tonight.
>Im sure both camps would assist in supporting your kit..... Sure need
it!
>Good luck with the project , keep us posted as im sure there will be a
lot of interest in these especially since it has >status
feedback.........
>How do you find the 18f series of pics ?? just got a couple of 18f252
and
>18f452 but havent had a chance to play as yet.... If you make the
change Frank you will not look back. Very powerful, they sort there and
work. If you look at the picture the five way header next to the RF
module is the in-circuit programming connected. Plugged the programmer
in and it worked first time.
I'll reply to your other email Frank tonight when I have a little more
time.
Frank
