Hauppauge MediaMVP -video

Just received my MediaMPV and its as easy to set up as Paul Robinson said
in
a previous post -:)
Music and pictures are working fine but only video formats that seem to be
supported are Mpeg-1 and Mpeg-2 and most of the video that I have (well to
be honest the films that my lads have downloaded) seem to be in every other
format -:(
Anyone recommend some software (preferably cheap/free) that will convert to
Mpeg 1 or 2.
