We recommend Eclipse (all the time) and use them ourselves - the new
broadb=
and service, however, blows the competition out of the water.
"FLEX Broadband uniquely allows users to change the speed of their
connecti=
on at the touch of a button - for an hour, a week or permanently, without
a=
ny regrading fee, thus enabling them to adjust their connection to evolve
a=
s their needs change and expand.
Jomie Carmichael, co-founder and director of Eclipse Internet, winner of
th=
e ISPAs Best Business Broadband Provider award in 2003, said of the new
pro=
ducts, "Recent months have seen a plethora of new services launched
from co=
mpetitors in an effort to drive down the cost and increase take-up of
broad=
band. Disappointingly, this has resulted in a worrying trend towards
restr=
ictive services that penalise end-users for high usage.
Eclipse believes that Broadband is not about restricting or constraining
us=
ers - it's about having freedom to explore, discover and experience the
Int=
ernet at faster, and faster speeds. We feel that FLEX Broadband will
revol=
utionise the market and help achieve the Government's vision of a
"Broadban=
d Britain"'.=20=20
The FLEX Broadband range gives users the freedom to set the speed of their
=
connection to suit their needs - slower for email downloads and faster for
=
large file downloads, such as music and video. New broadband users
migrati=
ng from slow dial-up services can start with the new FLEX 250 service and
t=
hen move to a higher speed as their requirements change - without the
addit=
ional cost of regrading or changing service provider.=20
Carmichael added: "FLEX Broadband is revolutionary, offering instant
connec=
tion speed increases up to 2Mbps at the touch of a button, for as little
or=
as long as the user needs it them. Everyone at Eclipse Internet is extrem=
ely excited about the new FLEX services and the direction the company is
ta=
king."
Pretty jaw-dropping - you could, if you wished, sign up for the =A317 a
mon=
th 256k service, then "flex" up to 1Mbps for a couple of hours to
download =
some stuff - then drop back again when you are finished.
The only catch - existing customer's can't regrade to the Flex packages
*ye=
t* that's coming soon. For anyone considering moving to broadband, you
just=
got the best reasons yet. Full FAQ is here:
