RE: CCTV & Spiders

I'm guessing, but would something like vasaline smeared around the
edge/inside of the CCTV housing stop the web from sticking?

My Mother-in-law swears that conker in the corner of each room also keep
the
spiders away (I'm far from convinced), so trying perching a conker on top
of
the camera, it'll look very sophisticated.

Subject: [ukha_d] CCTV & Spiders

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping that someone on this list is a spider expert.

I have several CCTV cams around the out side of our home, one of
which is constantly in use by a spider. Which makes it's web in front of
the
lens each night. Now whilst I don't mind them normally. This is a real pain
as it keeps generating hundreds of triggers in Zone Minder.

I have changed the settings in zone minder, but a small spider close
up is like a person a long way away.

So does anyone know of a substance I can put around the camera to stop the
eight legged monster making his home.

Regards,

Paul
