Seriously ? I'm not quite sure yet, but since it only cost me some time
to install, I couldn't think of a good enough reason not to :-)

It will track the ambient temperature, but with a lag and probably an
offset. I'm also going to mount one in "free air" outside for
true
ambient temp monitoring. There's probably too much thermal mass in the
patio slabs to give an indication of ground frost, but I'll see how it
goes.
