as someone who has probably now spent the equivalent of a Homevision unit

burnt out CM12s over the years, could you expand on that statement for me

No, you need an XM10. The CM12's useless (actually, it always was, and
you're about to find out just how much!)

Believe me, there's no way you'll regret buying HV.
