I have a powerbook with osx and love it. I just hate apple support.
it lets the side down

I've just built a machine and installed fedora core 2. The setup was
very straight forward, and it (Gnome desktop) is a very pretty, user
friendly-ish interface.

I bought an install DVD off ebay - arrived in the post in <24 hours -
that's after having tried to download the DVD image all weekend only to
have it fail to work!

If you want an easy life, I can thoroughly recommend a Mac...
