RE: New Comfort keypad install dilemma




As long as the comfort system isn't in arm mode (i.e. it's in security off)
disconnecting the power to the comfort system shouldn't set the bellbox
off, it only does it if the system is armed when the power is cut and there
is no battery backup, at least that's how mine works.  I have powered down
my comfort system on numerous occasions to add extra sensors etc and never
had any problems.  Disconnect the battery inside the comfort panel and then
power down otherwise you will get a power failure message on the keypad.

Paul,

Don't you just disarm Comfort with the "engineer" code ? That way
it
knows you're going to tamper with it so doesn't sound the alarm. (just
guessing though as I don't have Comfort).
