RE: mp3 player advice

If you buy from www.advancedmp3players.co.uk then their own support is
fantastic for the iriver.. I have owned an IHP-140 for nearly 3 months now
and its a rock !!! Get the 1.40 firmware upgrade and it is even better
!!!!!

You can get all software and firmware updates from www.iriverusa.com .

True, it isn't as lovely as the IPOD !! I owned one for 2 years and trust
me
it's like owning an early Ducati !! Yes it was sexy and that was about it
!!! Other cheaper bikes were faster, handled better and actually started
more often than not.. Pretty soon you wish you had not bought style over
substance.. Eventually you start to really dislike what only months before
had been a dream to own.....

Don't get me wrong.. I didn't rush out and buy a Skoda, I have owned
Harleys
and Range Rovers since... and all the other stuff that doesn't do what it
says on the tin but with an MP3 player it will be in your pocket with only
a
remote showing !!! The iriver does everything it says on the tin and (throw
the horrible brown packet away) doesn't look that bad..

Alternatively you can wait for the new IPOD that is due out with a longer
battery life.. Wider support for the likes of OGG Vorbis and many other
little features we all wanted a long time ago.. Dunno when it is due or if
it will be as good as they say.. but thems the chances you take with a tech
sector that changes quicker than a kids mind in a sweet shop....

Hope that helps a little

Mark H....

MMmmm - got me thinking - until I read a load of reviews about the poor
support and lack of firmware updates to fix some problems - otherwise I
might be tempted to cancel the iPod and get one of these.

Paul.
