I auto detected and got these settings (just checked).
Maybe different exchanges give different settings? Anyone know the
answer to this, I'm curious.

Hiyall.
How many of you AUTO DETECTED your adsl modem settings?
Stuck a note this one. We have has several problems whereby the ADSL
kept dropping out and so losing internet connections. After a bit of
rummaging around (and a chat to tech support :) ) turns out that the
AutoDetect for the modem doesn't use the correct values that are used in
the UK.
What /should/ be used are as follows.
--------------------------------
DSL Modem Settings
Multi-PVC Channel: Channel 1
VPI: 0
VCI: 38
Encapsulating Type: VC MUX
Protocol: PPPoA
Modulation: G.DMT
--------------------------------
Apparently this is what ALL UK BT provided ADSL connections use (if its
wrong blame the tech guy!). Its been working so far with no hiccups on
a test site.
Hope this helps :)
