Have a look at the Linksys WRT54g, with the standard firmware they are
nothing to write home about, but a quick flash of the Sveasoft firmeware
and
they are a different animal altogether. You can increase the power output
of
them up to 84mw (default is 28mw), and you can set up bandwidth management
features.

Not sure that there is that much difference in the ones that follow IEEE
standard (i.e not 108Mb Turbo mode etc. - just b, g, or a). Bit like pc's,
they are much the same on basic spec.
My advice though; get one where you can add a better arial or somehow
extend
the range.
The biggest disapiontment for me on wireless networks so far has been the
lack of a consistant or reliable range.
