Been having more thoughts on how to archive this without getting the
tmc cases (the noise would be unbearable for me i think as my office
isnt far from my bedroom).

Then get an 8 channel SATA Raid card in the pc, then run 8 long SATA
cables.  I've got some braiding from cpc to tidy those up.

Nice idea but not sure whether to do it.
