unfortunately the author actually shows far to much ignorance - this is NOT
A VOIP ISSUE.. You can get unrestricked PRI's which allow you to do exactly
the same. Quite fankly if you rely on caller id for your security or
identification then you are in for a big shock. The author also said that
he tried to contact the owner of NuFone, something the owner denys in the
strongest terms. What the author fails to point out, miserably, is that
your number is never withheld within the SS7 switching, it simply has a
flag that says 'do not display this' ..

There are some perfectly valid reasons for wanting to 'spoof' your caller
id in the real world, if there weren't carriers wouldn;t allow you to do
it.

Both of these so called 'hackers' (they aren't) have simply been cut off
from the NuFone network for a breach of the T&C's .

Quite frankly it's a ridiculous article, jumping on the "VoIP is
bringing the end of the world closer" bandwagon...

it's bollocks...
