Sounds very similar to what I had specced out. I have Protel myself so
would be interested in the circuit anyway. I have no need to sell this
idea, just offering it to the UKHA community later if it all works. I
like the tinkering bit myself.
What sort of edge connector did you go for? Just the plain PCB edge type
or a DIN41612 style. I am going with the DIN41612 but with the larger
capacity pins to allow me to supply the mains to each board and have
onboard toroidal transformers. This is different to my original idea of
a single supply. Not sure if this is a good idea, but it means that I
don't have to design a whopping great supply to try and locate in the
chassis.
