RE: RE [ot] Ebay bidding software

Yes, you are.

Lets say an item is on for £20. You are willing to pay £50 for it.
So you put in £50 and the bidding now stands at £30 because you had to go
to that to outbid the previous highest bidder.
Said person (or other people) now have the time between now and the end of
the auction to decide to go higher than that and they bid £40 or £55 even
and win unless you bid higher again.

With sniping software, you don't "reveal your hand" as it were
until the
dying seconds of the auction, so you should outfox the previous highest
bidder who thinks he's gonna win for £20 and bix a max of £30 on it.

Some ppl go mad on ebay and *have* to win, so things can go for crazy
money because a bidding war starts. If y ou are sniping then the
possibility of this happening reduces.

Of course, as more and more people use sniping services, it becomes less
effective and everyone ends up either losing or paying the max they were
prepared to pay for the item they want....thankfully we're not there just
yet though.
