I couldnt work out why Gandalf hadn't just whistled up the eagles on Day1,
flew over to the mountain of doom and chucked it in.....
Would have saved 9 hours of film ......

You mean the ring gets destroyed ... bah! you've spoiled the whole
film for me!!!
