Perhaps I'm missing the point here, but what does it matter whether you can
write to the cards or not?....
Surely so long as you can READ something (anything) off the card, and so
long as that data is known to be unique to that card (which seems likely if
its a personal card), then surely that's all you need to do to use it for
personalised access control?
Just swipe the card, discover what it reads out as a serial string, then
program that string into your HV script... what difference does it make
whether that string is:
"LKJHDISKSSDBCJSKAOIUW23423M3NOWSWE09SKN2320FQWWLKE09302394H232K34234N2"
as opposed to:
"This is Fredd Bloggs so let him in"
