but, even if it was common 0V, you would still end up with
effectively the resistanace of the ground wire (which on T&E is
thinner than the L and N) providing a floating common for the
speakers, leading to cross channel modulation, loss of damping
factor, and possibly screwing with the -ve feedback and zobel
protection stuff.

All terribly ugly :-)
