I saw the "we'll try and get your money back" bit on Paypal's
website but
was hoping there was something more substantial available.

Can I ask who your credit card provider is??

Not sure what Natwest's stance is on this, will check!!

Paypal offer an apparent protection - they will try and reverse on your
behalf a disputed transaction - however in the one case where I had to do
this there were insufficient funds to reverse and they sent me a 'sorry but
not our problem' response. So I used the eBay 120 day protection. However
they insisted that my credit card company needed to decline any form of
redress first. So I had to follow that line - when , as expected, the
credit
card company did say they couldn't do anything eBay then claimed I was now
outside 120 days ! :-) Ongoing as they say.

I think different credit card companies have different policies on
purchases
made via PayPal - would be interested how you get on with this one.
