Sorry for starting another OT thread, I'm happy to take replies off-list
rather than clog the list (unless anyone particularly wants to stay on
list)

I've been given a brochure for a video scaler / switcher unit. The guy who
is interested is from a local charity, they do a lot of presentation work
using combination of DVD, VCR, Live camera feed, pre-recorded video clips,
PowerPoint etc...

Currently this is managed off the back of a projector using the input
selector and fiddling with a laptop and / or VCR/DVD. This however has the
potential for huge cockup (as I found out on one occasion when the IR
remote
wouldn't switch the input !)

Anyone know of a cheap(ish) solution (preferably PC based) that will take
several video & sound inputs or PC apps (PowerPoint etc...), scale
& preview
these in windows on a screen and output 1 (or mix of outputs) via another
graphics card ? I guess a bit like a very simple TV studio
