Interesting - I used a Holdan and a JS RGB to Plasma, and it caused mine
Pioneer to go out of range when images had large white area's - had to send
it back - tried two and both caused same problem - JS even sent me another
of his convertors to try without asking for the first one back - top man !!
I ended up cascading all my equipment, had tried a Quattro prior, this work
ok - but IR seemed to be a problem with a Pronto.

I have one of these! Works quiet well. I use it to feed RGB to my Plasma.
In
between the RGB source (i.e Tivo) I have some John Simms RGB to S-Video
converters (www.letsautomate.co.uk) which have a RGB pass through, the
S-video supplies my Kramer 4x4 matrix.
Did that make sense?
RGB Source -----> John Simms Converter -----> RGB to HSR1000
-----> S-Video to Kramer Matrix
Thank you to Keith Doxey who suggested this route.

Julian,
I spotted this in the Keene catalogue - I've not got one and have no idea
of
picture quality.
7x3 matrix switcher (6x scart + 1x front panel RCAs) 4 of the scarts are
RGB, one is composite and one composite/S-video. Front panel conn. is
composite. Additionally, 3 inputs support SPDIF.
It can be operated from the front panel, or by IR remote, or
"automatically". No mention of RS232 though :-(
Price is GBP 89- incl vat.
See http://www.keene.co.uk/system/keene.htm,
part # HSR1000
