NO!!
I have been looking a lot at 802.11af, and it's not as easy as it would
seem. :(
Homebrew POE, simply running power over cat5 is easy, and no big hassle,
but making it work with purchase 802.11af kit (the proper standard for
PoE) is trickier:
There's a bunch of stuff on the www.powerdsine.com site, as they were
one of the key developers of the 802.11af standard, and make power
modules that work with the Cisco implementation.
I think (and it's just my opinion) that you should either choose to use
802.11af kit throughout (which is expensive) or use "roll your
own", but
never, ever, mix the two..
I don't think "real" PoE kit will take too kindly to finding the
wrong
voltages or capacitance/resistance behaviour appearing on the wire :

Essentially, yes.
